Pep Guardiola lauds Villa courage in win over Manchester City

Pep Guardiola admits Aston Villa were the better side in Manchester City’s defeat at Villa Park on Wednesday night.

The champions were denied victory for the fourth Premier League game running in a 1-0 loss away from home to Unai Emery’s men.

Speaking about the brilliance of the opposition in Wednesday’s clash, Guardiola insisted that Villa’s approach to the game caused many problems for his side, eventually leading to the defeat.

“Aston Villa were the best team on the pitch tonight,”

“They play a fantastic game… and we struggled to make our process and be more aggressive in some moments in behind. The better team won”.

The champions now sit in fourth place with 30 points after 15 matches and take on Luton Town away from home on Sunday afternoon.
