Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has backed his decision to bench Marcus Rashford in his side’s win over Chelsea in midweek.
The England international was introduced in the 80th minute of the game against Chelsea at Old Trafford as United sealed a 2-1 victory.
Rashford has had a struggling start to the 2023/24 season netting just two Premier League goals for the Red Devils in 14 games.
Quizzed on Rashford’s form, Ten Hag said: “I’m not gonna change my idea. He’s an incredible, good player.”
“He can’t play every game — he’s not in this moment in the form he was last year but I am sure Marcus will get there.”
Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay have had improved performances at the club this campaign and were praised by the gaffer ahead of this weekend’s game.
“Maguire and McTominay are great players and they played into the team,” he added.
“That’s what you expect from every player, there has to be dedication to aim for this.”
United will come up against Bournemouth in their next league games after picking up three wins in their last four matches in the Premier League.
