Bayern Munich remain coy on Ronald Araujo links

Bayern Munich have failed to dismiss reports linking them to a move for Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo.

According to reports in Germany and Spain, the Uruguay international has been identified as a target for Thomas Tuchel’s side next summer.

Araujo has been one of the best players for the La Liga side this summer as they occupy the fourth spot on the league table following the latest defeat to league leaders Girona.

Speaking in an interview with Kerry Hau, Bayern director, Christoph Freund, admitted there are ongoing talks with some players but refused to give details.

“I don’t want to make a statement on that,” he said when quizzed about the Barcelona defender.

“The transfer window is approaching. Generally speaking — there are some talks, but I don’t want to say anything about that in detail.”

Bayern suffered a humiliating 5-1 defeat to Eintracht FRankfurt over the weekend as they fell further behind Bayer Leverkusen, who were also held to a draw against Stuttgart.
