Mikel Arteta says Jurrien Timber is still a long way off from returning to the team despite development in his recovery.
The defender has been out with a long-term injury since the first few weeks of the 2023/24 season.
Timber arrived at Arsenal in the summer transfer window from Ajax and slotted in very well at the club.
The player’s last game was against Nottingham Forest in August and he was then sidelined with an ACL injury.
The Dutchman’s recovery is going to plan, but Arteta says he is still some time off despite the good progress.
“Timber is doing very well. He’s flying to be fair, the stage he is right now,” the Arsenal boss told the press.
“The way he works every single day is incredibly satisfying to watch but unfortunately we’re going to miss him still for a long time.
“I think he’s in a really good place.”
Arsenal, following defeat to Aston Villa over the weekend, are back in action in midweek as they face PSV in the UEFA Champions League.
