Newcastle United host AC Milan at St James’ Park on Wednesday in their final UEFA Champions League group game in what is expected to be a keenly contested fixture.

The hosts head into the clash on the back of a 4-1 demolishing at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League last weekend, while AC Milan suffered a 3-2 defeat to Atalanta in the Serie A.

The Magpies were denied all three points in France courtesy of a last-minute Kylian Mbappe penalty while AC Milan suffered a 3-1 defeat at home to Borussia Dortmund a fortnight ago.

The reverse fixture saw both sides play out a 0-0 draw at San Siro in September, yet both teams risk elimination should that result be repeated.

The Rossoneri are the better side in terms of form heading into this clash with three wins and a draw in their last six games, meanwhile, Newcastle have suffered three defeats in the period.

Sean Logstaff is lined up to return to action after suffering an injury for the hosts, meanwhile, the Rossoneri will be without Malick Thiaw and Pierre Kalulu in this crunch clash.

Eddie Howe’s men know a victory in this clash will see them sail through to the knockout stages should Paris Saint Germain fail to be victors in Germany and the Magpies will have their fans as support come Wednesday night.

The match comes off at 8:00 pm.
