Barcelona will be looking to avoid a third consecutive defeat in all competitions when they face Valencia at Mestalla on Saturday night.

Xavi’s team were defeated 4-2 at home by Girona in La Liga last weekend.

The result saw them drop to fourth place on the league table, seven points off the top spot, while Valencia also lost 1-0 to Getafe in their most recent encounter, dropping Los Che into the bottom half of the competition.

The Blaugrana club also suffered a shocking 3-2 defeat against Royal Antwerp in the UEFA Champions League this week and will need to get back to winning as soon as possible.

Valencia have one win in their last five league games and are in desperate need of confidence-boosting results to turn their season around.

However, they face a side they have never beaten at home in their last three meetings in the league.

Barcelona have claimed victories in the said period and scored eight goals in that time as well.

Since 2020, Los Che have never beaten Barcelona across all competitions which makes Saturday’s game a likely win for the travelling team.

Kickoff for the game is slated at 20:00 GMT.
