Liverpool will host Manchester United on match day 17 of the 2023/2024 Premier League with a lot at stake for both teams on Sunday.

The hosts are table toppers moving into this clash meanwhile Manchester United sit in seventh place, two points off Newcastle who lie in sixth place.

The Merseyside Reds were 2-1 victors over Crystal Palace last weekend before suffering a 2-1 defeat to Union SG in their final Europa League group game in midweek.

Manchester United however approach this game after successive defeats to Bournemouth and Bayern Munich in an aggregate 4-0 score line.

The last time both teams met at Anfield in May, the hosts put seven past Erik Ten Hag’s side and Liverpool look the favorites for this clash as well.

Manchester United however have suffered three defeats and won twice in their last five meetings with Liverpool and will be confident of pulling up a surprise against the leaders on Sunday night.

The hosts will be without Alexis Mac Allister who is suffering from a knee injury meanwhile Harry Maguire remains the big miss for the Red Devils at Anfield on Sunday.

Liverpool have only suffered one defeat in their last six matches and are expected be at their very best with Mohammed Salah leading their attack in order to remain top of the standings.
