Van Dijk blames Onana for Liverpool draw with Man United

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk accused Andre Onana of wasting time during the Reds’ 0-0 draw with Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday night in the Premier League.

Erik Ten Hag’s troops managed to frustrate an in-form Liverpool side on their own turf in a pragmatic performance against their bitter rivals.

Onana, one of United’s best players on the day, was chastised by the Dutchman, who felt the Cameroonian frequently delayed the game.

“Because of you, we only played a half-hour game,” van Dijk said according to talkSport, as per Daily Mail.

“There was only one team trying to win the game. We want to win every game, of course, and that is why it is frustrating.

“We carry on, of course, but it is frustrating because we were superior in all aspects. In the end, they are buzzing with a point, and we are disappointed with a point.”

The draw at Anfield means Liverpool fail to reclaim the top spot with Arsenal now leading the race.

United on the other hand stay in seventh place after 17 games.
