Borussia Dortmund vs Mainz prediction, odds and preview

Borussia Dortmund will aim to clinch their first win of December when they host Mainz at the Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday night in the German Bundesliga.

The hosts sit in fifth place ahead of this clash with 26 points while the visitors lie in the red zone with only nine points after 15 matches in the league this season.

Dortmund were held to a 1-1 draw with Augsburg last weekend meanwhile Mainz suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Heidenheim last Saturday.

Both teams have been far from their best in their last six games in all competitions, winning only once since November.

However, the hosts will hope to return to winning ways to increase their chances of inching closer to the top four places, as Edin Terzic’s team is undefeated in their last five matches against Mainz.

Dortmund will be boosted in defence with the return of Mats Hummels from suspension.

Meanwhile, Karim Onisiwo will most likely replace Ludovic Ajorque up front for Mainz, as the Frenchman has scored only one goal this season.

The match comes off at 7:30 pm.
