Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson says he is happy with the way his maiden season is going at the club so far despite criticism.

The 22-year-old joined the Blues from Villarreal in the summer and has struggled to be consistent for the club.

Despite his inconsistencies, Jackson has scored seven goals in 13 Premier League starts while he has also netted once in the EFL Cup.

Jackson has been shy in front of goal on several occasions which has attracted criticism but the Senegal international says he does not pay attention to them.

“It’s my first season so I am happy, although everybody is talking s*** – I am very happy, I don’t care what people say,” the forward told the Evening Standard.

“It is just people who don’t know about football.

“I will just continue to play more games and score more goals.”

Jackson is also expected to lead the line for Mauricio Pochettino’s men once again when they face Newcastle United on Tuesday night.

Chelsea will look to avenge the 4-1 defeat to Magpies last month.
