Barcelona vs Almeria prediction, odds and preview

Barcelona will be hopeful of returning to winning ways when they host Almeria at the Olympic Stadium on Wednesday night in La Liga.

The hosts were held at the Mestalla Stadium by Valencia in a 1-1 draw on Saturday whereas Almeria shared the spoils at home with Mallorca in a goalless draw.

Xavi Hernandez’s men are winless in their last three matches across all competitions and will hope to bounce back with a victory over Almeria who sit bottom of the standings in La Liga.

Barcelona have the upper hand ahead of the clash with three wins in their last four matches against the visitors, suffering only one defeat in the period.

However, the Catalans have lacked conviction in front of goal in recent matches this season and find themselves nine points off the top.

Meanwhile, the visitors are winless in their last six matches in the league yet could cause Barcelona some problems in defence, as the Blaugrana have conceded in each of their last three matches across all competitions.

Barcelona will be without Frenkie de Jong due to suspension after the Dutchman picked his fifth yellow card of the season meanwhile Gonzalo Melero remains a doubt to feature for the visitors in Wednesday’s game.
