Aston Villa host Sheffield United on Friday night in the English Premier League at Villa Park, with an opportunity to sit top of the standings.

This will be the first meeting between the two sides after 2021 when Sheffield United emerged winners in a 1-0 victory.

Aston Villa sit in third place on the league standings behind leaders Arsenal and second-placed Liverpool ahead of the clash, and could go top of the standings before the Gunners face the Merseyside Reds on Saturday afternoon.

The Blades however sit bottom of the league table and head into this game on the back of a 2-0 defeat last weekend to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Aston Villa are unbeaten in their last 14 home matches against Chris Wilder’s men and will look to continue this feat with confidence on Friday night, knowing they are undefeated in their last six league matches as well.

Unai Emery’s men will be boosted with the return of Douglas Luiz and Lucas Digne from suspension.

Meanwhile, the Blades will have Jack Robinson available for this clash after the England defender served a one-match suspension last weekend against Chelsea.
