Atletico Madrid welcome Sevilla to the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday afternoon in their final match of 2023.
The hosts were held back by Getafe on Tuesday night in a six-goal thriller, meanwhile, Sevilla were 3-0 victors over Granada away from home in midweek.
Should Diego Simeone’s men bounce back to winning ways, they would level champions Barcelona on 38 points on the league standings.
Sevilla however sit in 15th place on the league table and have only one win in their last five matches against Atletico Madrid moving into this game.
The visitors recorded their first victory in their last six La Liga games under new manager Quique Sanchez Flores last weekend and will look to continue on this trajectory to turn their season around ahead of the second round of matches next year.
Atletico Madrid will still have Thomas Lemar unavailable due to injury, as Stefan Savic is also sidelined with a suspension for Saturday’s game.
Meanwhile, despite the absence of Joan Jordan, Sevilla will be confident knowing that Ivan Rakitic returns to the squad after serving a suspension against Granada.
The match comes off at 3:15 pm.
