Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes has refused to admit the club is back to its best despite the win over Aston Villa.

United came from two goals down to seal a 3-2 victory at Old Trafford on Boxing Day with Rasmus Hojlund also scoring his first Premier League goal.

John McGinn and Leander Dendoncker scored for Villa in the opening half before Alejandro Garnacho scored a second-half brace.

Hojlund wrapped up the three points with an effort in the 82nd minute to end United’s four-game winless run.

Asked about how the team can build on the victory in subsequent matches, Fernandes asked that they approach it one game after the other.

“I don’t want to speak about it. We had too many post-match interviews where we spoke about this…,” he said in an interview with Amazon.

“Better go game by game.”

United have one more game in the Premier League until the New Year with a game against Nottingham Forest next on the card on December 30.
