Barcelona is the best club in the world – Vitor Roque

Brazilian youngster Vitor Roque has described Barcelona as the best club in the world following his arrival.

Roque has officially penned a deal with Camp Nou outfit until June 2031, with the forward expected to join the Catalan club following the winter break.

The youngster joins the club from Brazilian side Athletico Paranaense where he had a fantastic campaign.

Speaking following his arrival, the 18-year-old revealed he had no options aside from playing for the Blaugrana side.

“Barça is the best club in the world. My dream has always been to play here.”

“Raphinha told me many wonderful things but also that here the only things that matter are winning, winning and winning.”

Roque also added that he has spoken with both Xavi Hernandez and Deco who have expressed belief in him.

“Nothing specific, to be honest. But before I joined Barça, I spoke with both Xavi and Deco, and not just as coaches, but also as friends,” he continued.

“They were always ready to help with everything and I am very grateful for their faith in me.”

Roque joined Athletico Paranaense last year and played 81 times for the club, scoring 28 goals and registering 11 assists.

He also made his Brazil debut in March, playing the final 25 minutes of a 2-1 friendly loss to Morocco.
