AC Milan kick off the new year by hosting Cagliari at the San Siro in the Coppa Italia on Tuesday evening.

A place in the quarter-final is up for grabs as both sides eye silverware this season.

The hosts beat Sassuolo 1-0 at San Siro on Saturday night via a Christian Pulisic strike and will look to make it five successive matches unbeaten come Tuesday night.

Cagliari however have been far from convincing domestically, winning only one of their last five matches.

The Rossoneri look the favourites ahead of this clash with four wins in their last five matches against the visitors, drawing only once in the period.

Stefan Pioli could hand Nigeria striker Samuel Chukwueze a start as the Nigerian does not depart for the Africa Cup of Nations until midweek, meanwhile, Antoine Makoumbou returns to the Rossoblu’s squad after missing the match against Sassuolo due to suspension.
