Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says the club would have to wait to see the extent of the injury to Dominik Szoboszlai on Monday night.
The midfielder starred for the Reds in the win over Newcastle United in the Premier League as they extended their lead at the top.
The Hungarian came off in the 64th minute of the game with Ryan Gravenberch taking his place.
The 23-year-old has featured in all 20 league games for Liverpool this season with 19 being starts.
According to his manager, the player picked up an injury before his substitution and the club now awaits the results from his assessment.
“We wanted to take Domi off, that was the plan… but unfortunately it was somehow a minute late because in the last situation, he felt the hamstring,” he said.
“We don’t know the extent of it, obviously, so we have to wait.”
With the 4-2 win over Newcastle, Liverpool now go three points clear at the top of the table after 20 games.
