Chelsea vs Preston prediction, odds and preview

Chelsea will hope to avoid successive third-round elimination in the English FA Cup when they welcome Preston to Stamford Bridge on Saturday night.

The Blues beat Luton Town last weekend in a 3-2 win at Craven Cottage, meanwhile, Preston suffered a 2-0 defeat to Sunderland on Monday.

With only one defeat in their last five league matches, Chelsea look the better side ahead of the clash with four wins in the period and will look to maintain their winning streak come Saturday night.

Preston however have only one win in their last five matches in all competitions and will need to be at their very best if they edge past the hosts away from home.

Moreover, the visitors have lost 17 of their last 18 FA Cup matches against top-flight opponents, with their last win coming in 2008 against Derby County.

Enzo Fernandez gained some minutes in Chelsea’s clash with Luton Town last week and could be included in the XI by Mauricio Pochettino.
