Bayern Munich welcome Hoffenheim to the Allianz Arena, in the quest to move within a point of leaders Bayer Leverkusen on the Bundesliga standings.

A 2-1 win over Wolfsburg was the hosts’ last competitive match in the Bundesliga while the visitors played a 3-3 draw with Darmstadt about three weeks ago.

The hosts are the favourites moving into this clash with three wins and two draws in their last five matches against Pellegrino Matarazzo’s men.

The visitors however lie in seventh place on the league standings, yet have only one victory in their last six matches in all competitions, and their struggles are likely to continue when they travel away from home to Munich.

Thomas Tuchel’s men will not have defensive duo Noussair Mazraoui and Kim Min-Jae, as both players are on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations and Asian Cup respectively.

Hoffenheim will also have Diadie Samassekou away with the Mali squad at the Africa Cup of Nations but midfielder Dennis Geiger has now returned to training after a groin injury.

The match comes off at 7:30 pm.
