Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino says Christopher Nkunku’s latest injury has raised worrying concerns at the club.
Since joining the club, the forward has made just one Premier League appearance.
Nkunku was sidelined for three months due to a knee injury incurred during preseason, and he has missed Chelsea’s last two games due to a hip ailment.
“We’re disappointed and a little bit worried because we want him involved again as soon as possible,” said Pochettino.
“We are still assessing him, we don’t know what is going to happen.
“It’s complicated with Christopher. It’s now between eight and 10 days since he could train.
“He was so close to feeling comfortable again, he started the game against Crystal Palace.”
On December 24, he made his Premier League debut, scoring in a 2-1 loss to Wolves, and three days later he made his full debut against Crystal Palace.
Nkunku, however, missed the 4-0 FA Cup triumph over Preston last Saturday as well as the League Cup semi-final loss to Middlesbrough on Tuesday due to a hip injury received in training.
