Algeria will face Angola in their Group C opener of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations on Monday night at the Stade de Bouake in Ivory Coast.
After winning their second title in 2019, the Desert Foxes were eliminated in the previous edition in 2021 and will hope to bounce back this time around in this competition.
Angola nonetheless did not qualify for the previous edition and will look to have a convincing performance upon their return.
Djamel Belmadi’s men are unbeaten in their last 13 matches moving into this game and look the favourites to grab all three points on the day.
Meanwhile, the Palancas Negras have played out four consistent 0-0 results before this tournament.
Led on the touchline by Pedro Goncalves, Angola will believe they stand a chance against Algeria as they have not conceded in any of their last four matches.
The consistent and experienced midfield trio of Sofiane Feghouli, Nabil Bentaleb and Ismael Bennacer are expected to provide Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani with chances upfront for the Foxes in this game.
The match comes off at 20:00 GMT.
