Erik ten Hag has revealed he was expecting Jadon Sancho to return to Manchester United’s squad by apologising.
Sancho fell out with the United boss in August and was asked to train away from the club’s first team.
The England international made a dissenting post on social media after public criticism from the Dutchman and was made a scapegoat.
He was forced to train and eat alone and didn’t play a game for the Red Devils after the incident.
Quizzed if things could have been different if Sancho had apologised, Ten Hag said in an interview with Sky: “Yes, we have said that before. But I don’t want every time to return to that point…”
“Jadon knows what he should do, we have made that clear.
“Let’s stop the discussion.”
Sancho subsequently joined Borussia Dortmund on loan this month and made a bright start to life after registering an assist in the 3-0 win over Darmstadt in the German Bundesliga.
