Zambia will go toe-to-toe with DR Congo in their opening game of the Africa Cup of Nations at Stade de San Pedro on Wednesday night.
Chipolopolo returns to this tournament in Group F after missing out on the last three editions and played a one-all draw with the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in a pre-tournament friendly.
DR Congo however missed out only on the previous edition in 2021 and suffered a 2-1 defeat to Burkina Faso in their friendly ahead of this tournament.
The Leopards are two-time winners of this competition, yet have been far from convincing in their last five matches, winning only once in the period.
For DR Congo, Cedric Bakambu and Yoane Wissa are expected to be the main men leading the attacking charge as they eye a victory in their group opener.
Avram Grant’s side however will be heavily reliant on the efficiency of Patson Daka in the final third of the pitch.
The match comes off at 20:00 GMT.
