According to Black Stars forward Jordan Ayew, Ghanaians could be happy at the end of Thursday’s game versus Egypt.

The 32-year-old is optimistic Ghana will recover from their opening-day loss to Cape Verde and earn maximum points against the Pharaohs.

Ghana will face Egypt in their second Group B game at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), following their late collapse against Cape Verde.

The Black Stars are seeking to avoid a repetition of their 2021 AFCON performance, in which they lost two games and drew one.

“The first game we didn’t concentrate [for] 90+ minutes and that’s what cost us the game. The most important thing for us is to come back and stay focused,” he said at Wednesday’s presser.

“We have to stay aggressive and we’ll be fine. I have total belief in the players and staff.

“I’m really confident tomorrow will be a good day for Ghana.”

The game against Egypt is scheduled for an 8:00 pm kickoff.
