Ivory Coast vs Nigeria prediction, odds and preview

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will take on Ivory Coast in their second Africa Cup of Nations game at the Olympic Stadium of Ebimpé on Thursday night.

The Elephants were off to a flying start in their group opener with a 2-0 win over Guinea Bissau while Nigeria were held by Equatorial Guinea in a 1-1 draw.

A win would secure a place in the next round of the competition for the host nation, who although beat Guinea-Bissau, lost concentration in defence on several occasions and will have to be at their best against an attacking Super Eagles side.

Nigeria however are under pressure to deliver in this game after failing to finish off their chances in their opening match.

Despite numerous attacking options all over their squad, the Super Eagles lack creativity in midfield, a major problem that Jose Peseiro must address ahead of this clash.

Seko Fofana and Jean-Phillipe Krasso were on the scoresheet in the opening game and are expected to play crucial roles for Ivory Coast again in this match.

Nigeria however will need Victor Osimhen at his best, with the Napoli forward expected to lead the line of attack with Ademola Lookman and Moses Simon.
