Chris Hughton says he has nothing wrong against Osman Bukari after taking off the winger shortly after he had been introduced in the game against Egypt.

The four-time Africa Cup of Nations champions were held to a tense draw against the North Africans.

Mohammed Kudus scored twice in his maiden AFCON debut, but it wasn’t enough, as Omar Marmoush and Mostafa Mohamed profited on Ghanaian errors to level the game.

Bukari was substituted shortly after his error led to Egypt’s equaliser but Hughton says the player was affected after he gave the ball away.

“After the mistake, sometimes your emotions can get hold of you and we felt that the mistake, because it is an emotional game, we felt the mistake, it affected him a little bit so we decided to make the change.”

“This is nothing personal against anybody. We like him a lot and this doesn’t go against anything that we think of him.”

Ghana face Mozambique on Monday, January 22, in their last group game.
