Egypt will eye knock-out qualification at this edition of the Africa Cup of Nations when they face Cape Verde in their final group B game on Monday night.

The Pharaohs fought back to secure a point against the BlackStars of Ghana in a 2-2 result last Thursday, meanwhile, Cape Verde beat Mauritania convincingly to book a place in the last 16 of the competition.

Finishing the group phase strong will obviously be the goal for Bubista’s side who have been remarkable in this competition so far, with Gary Rodrigues and Bebe bursting into life.

Egypt however could see themselves eliminated with a defeat as Ghana take on Mozambique simultaneously tonight.

The Pharaohs’ resilience has earned them two points so far in the competition, yet this is the first time Rui Vítoria’s side has failed to win any of their first two games at this tournament since 1992.

Moreover, Egypt will be without marksman Mohammed Salah due to injury, and the likes of Omar Marmoush and Trézéguet are expected to rise to the occasion for the North African side.

The match comes off at 20:00 GMT.
