Playing another final is fantastic for Liverpool – Klopp

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says it is ‘fantastic’ to see his players book a place in yet another final.

The Reds beat Fulham in the semifinal of the Carabao Cup to seal a spot in Wembley where they face Chelsea in the final.

A 2-1 win in the first leg at Anfield meant that Wednesday night’s 1-1 stalemate at Craven Cottage had very little impact on who advances to the final.

Liverpool have regrouped strongly after failing to impress during the 2022/23 season which also saw them miss out on Champions League football.

“It’s fantastic to see our team going to do one more final. I told the boys: never take it for granted, it’s fantastic,” Klopp told Sky.

“These guys are exceptional, they work very hard. These boys want to win, they want to do special things.”

Liverpool took the lead at Craven Cottage through Luis Diaz in the 11th minute before Fulham got the equaliser from Issah Diop.

The final of this season’s Carabao Cup is scheduled for February 25 at Wembley.
