Mali will face Burkina Faso at the Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium on Tuesday night in the last 16 of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

The Eagles managed to secure the top spot in Group E, beating South Africa and sharing the spoils with Tunisia and Namibia in the group phase.

The winner of this clash will face Ivory Coast in the quarterfinals after the Elephants dispatched current holders Senegal in the last 16 on Monday night.

Burkina Faso however finished as runners-up in Group D, beating Mauritania and drawing Algeria despite a woeful 2-0 loss to Angola in their final group game.

Eric Chelle’s men have history on their side ahead of this fixture, as they have not lost against the Stallions in their last eight matches, winning seven times and drawing once in the process.

Lassine Sinayoko is Mali’s top scorer at this tournament and is expected to lead the line of attack for the Eagles with Yves Bissouma behind him in midfield.

The Stallions however will be glad to rely on the services of Betrand Traore in this clash to boost their chances of reaching the next round.

The match starts at 17:00 GMT.
