Morocco will face South Africa in the round of 16 of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations at Stade de San Pedro in Ivory Coast on Tuesday night.

The Atlas Lions entrenched their dominance in the group stages, running unbeaten with wins over Zambia and Tanzania while sharing the spoils with DR Congo.

Bafana Bafana however managed to do enough to book a place in this round by beating Namibia and drawing Tunisia on the final Matchday, despite suffering a disappointing 2-0 loss to Mali in their group opener.

The winner of this clash is expected to take on Cape Verde, who dispatched Mauritania in a 1-0 result to book a place in the quarterfinals.

Unbeaten in any of their last six games, the Atlas Lions approach this match as favorites and will most likely have Youssef En-Nesyri back on their fold following the forward’s absence in the win over Zambia.

Moreover, Morocco will have Walid Regragui back on the touchline after CAF lifted a ban on the coach‘s involvement in an incident after the DR Congo clash.

Hugo Broos however will hope to get his tactics right, and Percy Tau is expected to be joined with by Themba Zwane in the final third of the pitch for Bafana Bafana.

The game starts at 20:00 GMT.
