A place in the last four of the Africa Cup of Nations is up for grabs when DR Congo take Guinea in the first of four quarterfinal games.
DR Congo gained the attention after their shocking elimination of Egypt in the last 16 while Guinea grabbed a last-gasp win over Equatorial Guinea to advance to this stage.
Surprisingly, DR Congo are yet to win a game in regular time at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and their win over the Pharaohs came through the penalty shootouts after a 1-1 draw.
In all three games before the win over Egypt, Sebastien Desabre’s men recorded stalemates against Zambia, Morocco and Tanzania in Group F to advance to the knockout stages.
Guinea have had two wins in four games at the competition, losing one and drawing the other one.
Kaba Diawara’s men will be chasing history against DR Congo and will hope they don’t get ahead of themselves on Friday night.
This will be the first meeting between the two sides since they played each other during the qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup.
The winner of this game will face the victor from the fixture between Mali and Ivory Coast.
The game kicks off at 20:00 GMT.
