‘We will try to sign both of them’ – Deco on Cancelo and Felix

Barcelona director Deco says the club will try to sign both Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo in the summer.

The two players are currently on loan from Atletico Madrid and Manchester City respectively after falling out of favours at their parent clubs.

Cancelo since his arrival has featured in 25 games for Xavi’s side contributing six goals across all competitions with two coming in the UEFA Champions League.

Felix, on the other hand, has also been directly involved in 11 goals in 25 appearances for the Blaugrana club.

With challenges in their financial department, Deco still believes signing the two players is an option at the end of the 2023/24 season.

“Cancelo is doing very well, Felix started very well too and he brought us very important points. It will depend on many factors,” he said.

“We will try to sign both of them.”

The two players spent last season on loan at Chelsea and Bayern Munich respectively.

Barcelona are set to leave Xavi in the summer after the manager announced he will leave the club at the end of the season.
