Ivory Coast will be aiming to reach their first Africa Cup of Nations final since 2015 when they host DR Congo in the second semi-final at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Elephants managed to come back from a goal down to beat Mali in the dying minutes of extra time to book a semi-final place while DR Congo beat Guinea 3-1 to reach the last four.

Ivory Coast managed to bounce back to winning ways in this tournament following their 4-0 annihilation to Equatorial Guinea in their final group game, cruising past current holders Senegal and Mali in the knockout stages in extraordinary fashion.

The Leopards however secured their first win in this edition in the quarter-final against Guinea, having drawn four matches in normal time in this tournament.

Also, the two-time winners can make the competition’s decider for the first time since 1974 should they manage to beat the favourites on the day on Wednesday night.

Sebastien Desabre’s men are winless in their last two games against the Elephants after suffering defeats in the semi-finals in 1988 and 2015 and will hope to turn this tale around.

Emerse Fae could include Simon Adingra from the start of this game after his equalizer in the clash against Mali, while Arthur Masuaku and goalkeeper Lionel Mpasi are expected to be key for the Leopards.

The match starts at 8:00 pm.
