Inter Milan vs Atletico Madrid prediction, odds and preview

Inter Milan will welcome Atlètico Madrid to San Siro on Tuesday night in their UEFA Champions League last 16 first leg, in what is expected to be a keenly contested battle.

The hosts finished second in Group D behind Real Sociedad to book a place in this round, meanwhile, Atletico Madrid were table toppers of Group E with four wins and two draws in six matches.

The last time these two teams clashed was in August 2018 in a pre-season game, and Inter Milan edged Diego Simeone’s men in a 1-0 result.

The Champions League results so far in the round of 16 have been difficult to predict with Lazio giving Bayern Munich a tough time in Italy and RB Leipzig making Real Madrid’s life difficult.

The Nerazzurri are unbeaten in this competition this season and have suffered only one defeat in their last 13 Champions League matches. This means they will be a hard nut to crack for Atlètico Madrid at San Siro.

The Spanish side however has also shown consistency this season in this competition but their run of form domestically could let them down ahead of this clash, as they have only one win in their last four matches in all competitions.

Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez will be the explosive duo in attack for the hosts.

Meanwhile, Memphis Depay could join Antoine Griezmann in the opposition’s final third for the visitors.
