Real Madrid will return to league action on Sunday night when they face Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The game is expected to be an emotional one for Sevilla defender Sergio Ramos who will be making a return to the Bernabeu since his departure in 2021.

Madrid failed to pick up all three points in their last league game as they visited Vallecas, playing out a 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano.

Joselu’s early strike was cancelled out by a goal from the spot by Raul de Tomas.

Sevilla, on the other hand, were also held to a goalless stalemate against Valencia away from home.

Madrid and Sevilla played out a 1-1 game in their earlier meeting this campaign with Daniel Carvajal’s strike sealing a point for the league leaders.

Madrid could go eight points clear of second-placed Barcelona should they beat Sevilla on Sunday night while the latter are looking to climb up the league table.

Jude Bellingham continues to be on the sidelines for Madrid. Carvajal and Camavinga are both suspended for this fixture while Eder Militao and David Alaba as well as Thibaut Courtois also miss out.
