Liverpool will battle Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday afternoon in the English Premier League, in what is expected to be a title contender this season.

After a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest last weekend in the league, Liverpool went on to beat Sparta Prague in their UEFA Europa League last 16 first-leg tie in a stunning 5-1 result.

Manchester City however completed a 3-1 comeback over Manchester United last weekend in the league before booking a place in UEFA Champions League quarter-final with a 3-1 win over Copenhagen.

The reverse fixture saw both teams play out a 1-1 draw at the Etihad as Erling Haaland’s opener was canceled out by a soothing Trent Alexander Arnold strike.

Also, the advantage lies in the balance as both sides have two wins in their last five matches against each other, drawing once in the period.

This game could potentially define the chances of both sides winning the Premier League as the Cityzens and the Merseyside Reds are separated by only one point after 27 matches in this campaign. Arsenal however now top the standings having played a game more after their win over Brentford.

For Liverpool, Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez are back from injury and are on top form ahead of this game, and Luis Diaz will most likely partner with the duo in the attack.

Meanwhile, Manchester City will look to continue their 21-game unbeaten run with Erling Haaland and Phil Foden expected to be crucial in the opposition’s final third.

The match starts at 3:45pm.
