I hope things get better after this goal – Arda Guler

Real Madrid midfielder Arda Guler says he hopes to turn his season around after scoring his first goal for the club.

The teenager was on the scoresheet for Real Madrid as they recorded a convincing 3-0 win over Celta Vigo in the Spanish La Liga on Sunday.

Tipped to be one of the leading faces for Madrid in the next years, Guler has had a difficult time in Spain since arriving from Fenerbahce in the summer.

The 19-year-old faced injuries in the early part of the season and has found significant minutes hard to come by after being available.

Speaking after scoring his first goal for the club, the youngster is hopeful it will go a long way to earn him more minutes at the club.

“I’m very happy to be at Real Madrid. It’s the best club in the world and, although it’s difficult, I believe I have the quality and character to overcome it,” said Guler.

“It’s been a difficult season so far, but I hope better things come after this goal.”

Madrid are seven points clear of Girona in the race for the league title with 10 games left to play.
