‘Ten Hag is a very good manager’ – Gerard Pique

Former Manchester United defender Gerard Pique believes his former club has a ‘good manager’ in Erik ten Hag despite their recent difficulties.

Ten Hag made a good start to life as United boss leading them to the Carabao Cup last season while also securing a top-four finish.

However, the Red Devils have struggled for the majority of the 2023/24 season and sit sixth on the Premier League table.

United beat Liverpool last weekend to book a place in the semifinal of the FA Cup with Amad Diallo’s late goal and Pique believes that could be a turning point for the club.

“I still believe that Ten Hag is a very good manager. I don’t know if he will be able to turn things around, but the victory against Liverpool was incredible,” he told Sky Sports.

“It’s the kind of victory that will give them some confidence. energy for the rest of the season.”

Ten Hag is hoping for a strong finish to the season after the international break with a place in the top four still possible.
