Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo could stay next season – Laporta

Barcelona president Joan Laporta says he is confident that the Catalan club will retain João Félix and Joào Cancelo next season, after signing both players on loan in this campaign.

The Portuguese duo have largely contributed positively to the campaign this season, yet as to whether the club could retain their services looked the biggest question this year.

Laporta, however, insists that both Félix and Cancelo will have a place at the Catalan outfit next summer, believing a loan extension is the ideal way to navigate their continuity at the club.

”I think both João Cancelo and João Félix will continue at Barça next season. I hope Atlético won’t create any issues,” he told Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo.

“I don’t think Man City will put any limit to that. For sure, it will be an extension of loans with a fixed price”,

Although Barcelona have been far from their best this season, the Catalans are still in the UEFA Champions League knockout phase and also lie in second place behind Real Madrid in La Liga.

The Blaugrana side are looking to end the campaign on a high.
