Luis Diaz’s father, Mane, says they are still holding out for a move to Spain in the coming years when he decides to leave Liverpool.
Prior to joining Liverpool, the player was linked with both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid but in the end, he moved to Merseyside.
Diaz has been key to Jurgen Klopp’s side since his arrival and has already bagged double figures in 39 games this season, scoring 11 and assisting five in the process.
His father, however, is optimistic his son, in the long run, will get an opportunity to eventually play in Spain.
“There was never anything serious with Real Madrid or Atlético. Liverpool were always more determined and concrete to sign Luis,” Mane told SER.
“We haven’t lost our hope yet…Luis is playing well and Spanish clubs are always active in the market.”
Diaz impressed while on international duty with Colombia during the March international break and will now turn his attention to helping the Reds in the final stretch of the season.
