Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag says Kobbie Mainoo has not allowed the praise from the media and fans to occupy his head.

Mainoo has been one of the brightest spots for the Red Devils this season going on to become a regular since returning from injury.

The 18-year-old’s performances this season saw him get a call-up to the England senior national team where he featured in both games during the March international friendlies.

Mainoo came off as a substitute in the defeat to Brazil before starting the fixture against Belgium where he was named the Player of the Match.

The youngster has been praised continuously for his performances but is yet to show any signs of overconfidence according to Ten Hag.

“Hype around Mainoo? So far, Kobbie handles it very well,” said the Dutchman as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

“If he crosses the line, of course, I as a manager, we as coaches, will interfere. But so far it is not necessary because he wants to play football, he’s great guy.”

Mainoo is expected to play over the weekend for United as they face Brentford in the Premier League this weekend.
