Manchester United will look to continue their impressive form when Nottingham Forest visits Old Trafford on Tuesday night.

On November 13, the Red Devils defeated Fulham 2-1 in their final league game, and Forest defeated Crystal Palace 1-0 at home to finish the season on a winning note before the World Cup.

Man United returned to competitive play on Wednesday night, defeating Championship leaders Burnley 2-0 at Old Trafford to advance to the EFL Cup quarterfinals.

The Red Devils scored two goals, one each from Christian Eriksen and Marcus Rashford, and because they were paired with Charlton Athletic in the final eight, they have a good chance of moving on to the competition’s semifinals.

Last time out, Man United defeated Fulham 2-1 in the Premier League. Alejandro Garnacho scored a last-second goal for the 20-time English champions to move them up to fifth position in the standings, three points behind fourth-place Tottenham Hotspur with a match remaining.

The Red Devils play two league games left before the end of the year. Their next match is on December 31 away at Wolverhampton Wanderers, and they open 2023 at home against Bournemouth.

Since the beginning of October, Man United has only suffered one Premier League defeat. Under Erik ten Hag’s leadership, this season has shown a lot of promise.

The two teams will meet for the first time since Man United’s 8-1 Premier League triumph against Forest in the 1998-1999 season, and the Reds haven’t defeated United since December 1994.

Last week, Forest played in the EFL Cup as well. Thanks to a 4-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park, Forest has now advanced to the quarterfinals of the competition.

The last time Steve Cooper’s team played in the Premier League was on November 12 at the City Ground, where they defeated Palace 1-0.

Forest is now ranked 18th in the table with 13 points after their first 15 games, and they have only lost one of their previous five league games, including a 1-0 victory over Liverpool on October 22.

Despite adding an astonishing 21 players over the summer, the Reds are predicted to be in a relegation fight this year. However, they still have time to strengthen their team in the January transfer window.

The fact that Forest has the poorest away record in the Premier League this season—two points from seven games, 19 goals allowed, and only one scored—gives you an idea of how difficult their challenge will be when they play Ten Hag’s group on Tuesday.
